Why this exists

I just wanted to shrink a few photos, and site after site asked me to sign up, pay after a few files, or upload my pictures to their servers. So I built my own, and I'm sharing it free, with no account and no paywall, for anyone tired of the same thing.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No file limits, no account, no payment. The site is paid for by the ads on this page.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs in an area that is blocked from the internet. After the page has loaded you can even switch off your connection and most features keep working.

Does it work with iPhone photos (HEIC)?

Yes. They are saved as JPG. In Chrome and similar browsers a converter is downloaded once the first time; your photo is never sent.

How do I get my phone's wallpaper size?

Open this page on your phone and the screen size is filled in automatically. You can also pick a model from the list or type the size.

My PNG got bigger. Why?

A lossless PNG can be larger than the original. Set PNG colors to 256 or fewer, or save as WEBP.

Which formats are supported?

Open: JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO, SVG, HEIC/HEIF, TIFF. Save: JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, ICO, and AVIF where your browser supports it.

How does background removal work without uploading?

A small AI model (4.6 MB) is downloaded from this site once and runs in your browser. The photo never leaves your device. Edges are decent for most photos; for professional cut-outs you may still need manual retouching.

Is the passport photo accepted officially?

The tool crops to the official size and gives a head guide, but acceptance depends on the photo itself (lighting, expression, background). Check your authority's current rules.
